TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION, APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.
TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-07 LEVEL, APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-07: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-06) in the federal service that has given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of a Secretary (Office Automation) position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in Federal Service. Specialized experience for this position includes providing administrative support; scheduling and coordinating meetings and conferences; making travel arrangements; collecting, compiling, and tracking data; composing correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication ensuring format accuracy (e.g., grammar, punctuation, spelling, attachments, etc.); and utilizing computer databases and various Microsoft software (Word, Excel, spreadsheets, etc.) to complete office automation responsibilities.
NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week.
TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-08 LEVEL, APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-08: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-07) in the federal service that has given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of a Secretary (Office Automation) position? To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in Federal Service. Specialized experience for this position includes providing administrative support for an Executive/Director/CEO (or similar upper management echelon); scheduling and coordinating meetings and conferences; making travel arrangements; collecting, compiling, and tracking data; composing correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication ensuring format accuracy (e.g., grammar, punctuation, spelling, attachments, etc.); and utilizing computer databases and various Microsoft software (Word, Excel, spreadsheets, etc.) to complete office automation responsibilities.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, such as papers, books, small parts, or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
