Duties
Reviews, assigns, and monitors the ordering, receiving, issuance, delivery, transfer, activation, installation, and suspension of standard and non-standard wireless products, services, parts, and accessories. Assists the Mobile Communications Services Manager with planning and forecasting of the MCS department budget. Assists the Mobile Communications Services Manager with developing, implementing, and maintaining departmental policies and procedures. Adds, changes and deletes wireless products and services to the technology catalog; provides complex, customized products, configuration sheets and enhancements to the catalog; leads the section in providing detailed descriptions of wireless products and services based on user requirements; ensures that current prices are quoted and charged for wireless products and service plans; supervises testing of the catalog changes and enhancements before wireless products and services are available to the Senate community. Assists in leading the team in providing detailed functional descriptions based on user requirements in the customizing of wireless products, configuration sheets and enhancements to the MCS portion of the Technology Catalog. Serves as a senior liaison between Senate offices and wireless telecommunications vendors. Other duties as assigned.

- Acts as IT Manager during IT Manager’s absence.
Required Work Experience
- Five to eight years of progressively responsible experience coordinating telecommunications equipment and processes.
Required Special Skills/ Knowledge
- As part of our hiring process, we may conduct a skills assessment to better understand an applicant’s proficiency in key areas relevant to the role.
- Knowledge of current trends in the operation and configuration of wireless products and services.
- Knowledge of servers and server policies sufficient to assist with the troubleshooting of service activation issues.
- Ability to lead and supervise staff, including the ability to prioritize, assign and review the work of assigned staff.
- Knowledge of modern public procurement inventory control and asset management practices.
- Ability to program, test and suspend wireless products and services.
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to cultivate effective relationships with SAA employees, vendors, and Senate staff.
- Ability to work directly with the Wireless Business Analyst on MCS systems and process efficiencies.
Working Conditions
- This position directly supports essential services of the U.S. Senate. As such, this position requires the employee be available and prepared to work during a lapse, in inclement weather, on holidays, weekends, and during late nights to ensure essential services to the Senate continue without interruption. In the context of government furloughs, this position is considered excepted.

High School Diploma, GED.
