Summary

This position is located in the Office of the Chief Executive Officer (OCEO), Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). OCEO provides overall leadership, guidance and coordination to MCC staff and operations.

Although the position is advertised equivalent to GS-11, MCC uses a pay banded system to compensate employees. This position is pay band 4C which is generally equal to GS-11.

Duties

  • Performs a variety of confidential and special assignments, which may require considerable research and contact work.
  • Maintains electronic calendar and contact database; prepares daily briefing books; schedules appointments, meetings, and conferences for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and CEO staff.
  • Responds to or initiates executive communications, drafts documentation for signature and agency reporting; prepares reports to monitor scheduling and OCEO communications.
  • Participates in planning executive travel, including itinerary development, administrative and logistical items (visas, hotel booking, etc.), scheduling briefings, assembling briefing materials, and interagency and intergovernmental coordination. Supports the CEO and OCEO staff on official travel, foreign and domestic; provides OCEO Timekeeper functions.
  • Handles potential issues as appropriate and ensures that only items that warrant the CEO's and/or senior staff time and involvement are escalated to them for action.
  • Receives phone calls and visitors and refers them to an appropriate individual. Serves as the office liaison for groups associated with the organization.
  • Composes letters and reports, reviews correspondence for accuracy and completeness, prepares public presentation outlines, and develops standard or form letters and replies to inquiries.
  • Maintains working knowledge of the executive secretariat database and assists in creating, tasking, monitoring, clearing, and recording OCEO communications, scheduling, and records management. Serves as back-up executive secretariat in their absence.
  • Serves as buffer between the supervisor and organization staff by providing accurate and timely advice on procedures, reports, requirements, and other matters necessary to implement OCEO's policies, directives, and instructions.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To qualify for pay band 4C you must meet the following:

Qualifying experience for Pay Band 4C includes one year of specialized experience (comparable to the Pay Band 5 or GS-9 or equivalent non-federal experience), which is directly related to the work of this position, and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. For this position, examples of specialized experience are: performing confidential and special assignments for the senior executives; preparing briefings, background materials and related items for meetings, conferences, or other events/opportunities; planning executive travel, including itinerary development, administrative and logistical items (visas, hotel booking, etc.), scheduling briefing materials, and interagency and intergovernmental coordination; maintaining electronic calendar and contact databases; preparing daily briefing books; scheduling appointments, meetings, and conferences for the senior staff; using automated systems and databases (i.e. Microsoft Office products, SharePoint, case management system) to schedule meetings, create presentations and maintain case files; and responding to, initiating and editing executive communications, reports and documents for the senior staff approval. Applicant may qualify based on having a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

Applicant may qualify based on having 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

OR

Applicant may qualify based on having a LL.M., if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

  • RECRUITMENT/RELOCATION BONUS may be authorized for this position. If you are not a current federal employee this position may authorize a one time Recruitment bonus to be paid over a specified period.
