Summary

The Senate Sergeant at Arms is seeking a State Office Program Manager (Preparedness). Duties

Management of emergency preparedness and readiness for U.S. Senate State Offices. Manages the development and implementation of state office emergency and COOP plans, the state office emergency supply and equipment program, development and delivery of emergency preparedness and security training for state staff, department publications including the intranet (Webster) site, newsletters and other emergency/preparedness bulletins. Conducts needs assessments for state offices and manages the implementation of requirements to meet identified needs. Acts as a SME and provides expert advice and assistance to Senate state offices on issues of security and emergency preparedness, and other related matters. Develop, implement and deliver comprehensive training programs to ensure Senate staff understand and adhere to security protocols and best practices. Provides SAA Senior Leadership, Directors of SAA departments, and Senate Senior staff with real-time notifications to maintain situational awareness.

Qualifications

Other Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Occasional travel, including independently representing the SAA to State/Local first responder agencies, other Federal agencies (e.g., USMS, FPS).
  • Senate Operations Center liaison.

Required Work Experience

  • 5+ years.

Required Special Skills/ Knowledge

  • Emergency management, project management, principles of disaster response and recovery.

Security Clearance

  • This position requires that the applicant obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens in order for the SAA to submit your application for a security clearance.

Education

Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
