BASIC ENTRY QUALIFICATION:
A. Successful completion of a full four-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in the behavioral or social sciences, or in a related discipline that included at least 24 semester/36 quarter hours in the behavioral or social sciences. OR
B. Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
C. Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
In addition to meeting the basic entry qualification requirement, applicants must have specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
- Facilitating evidence-based domestic violence intervention programming consistent with established DV intervention frameworks (e.g., Duluth Model, Power and Control Wheel, Equality Wheel) with justice-involved or court-mandated populations
- Providing clinical supervision, oversight, or lead coordination of staff delivering domestic violence intervention or behavioral health services
- Conducting or overseeing individual and group risk assessments, safety planning, and victim safety coordination
- Applying trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices in a domestic violence, behavioral health, or criminal justice-related setting
- Preparing or reviewing clinical documentation, case notes, progress reports, or program compliance records in accordance with established standards
- Providing formal or informal supervision, lead oversight, or mentorship of staff delivering clinical or behavioral intervention services
Selective Placement Factor: This position requires demonstrated professional proficiency in both spoken and written Spanish and English sufficient to facilitate evidence-based domestic violence intervention groups, conduct clinical assessments, and communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking participants and their collateral contacts. Applicants must be able to accurately apply clinical, cognitive-behavioral, and motivational interviewing terminology in Spanish. Applicants will be assessed for bilingual proficiency during the interview and selection process. Fluency assertions that cannot be demonstrated will result in disqualification.
Licensure Requirement: To qualify for this position, applicants must possess a current licensure or certification to practice independently in the social services field. This includes Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or comparable certification in a social science discipline such as psychology or social work. Licensure must be current at the time of application and maintained throughout employment. Applicants are responsible for ensuring their licensure remains in good standing and for completing all continuing education requirements necessary to maintain licensure. A copy of your current, unrestricted license must be submitted with your application. Failure to provide a copy of your license will result in loss of consideration.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in Federal Service.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. |
