This position is located within the Office of Information & Technology (OIT), Infrastructure Operations Service (IOS), Web Operations (WebOps) is an organization that provides website and enterprise-based application hosting services for all VA facilities and programs. Duties

Major Duties:

  • Manages the complex development/migration of systems and related processes.
  • Acquires hardware and/or software necessary to support new initiatives or to provide changes in existing systems/applications.
  • Ensures the security principles, policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines established by the division are fully implemented to ensure the confidentiality , integrity and availability of the divisional assets.
  • Possesses knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles used to manage risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information or data.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates the work of a specialized group of highly technical and skilled information technology specialists and other personnel who provide technical support for the hardware and software installation, configuration and maintenance of international division automated applications.
  • Coordinates all activities related to the technical support of IT systems software and hardware; capacity planning/management and hardware acquisition and maintenance.

Qualifications

GS-14 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

Specialized experience includes: Experience applying Internet design principles, methods and protocols to provide basic Internet server
administration and maintenance techniques; Experience using file formats in delivery and development of modern web content in cloud and on-prem environments.
