BASIC REQUIREMENT
GS-15 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level obtained in the federal or private sector. Specialized experience would include progressively responsible professional experience sufficient to show a normal level of progression and senior-level knowledge of the occupation. It should include specific experience: (a) in analyzing agency-wide issues such as strategic planning, budget, human capital analysis, and/or enterprise risk management, (b) supervisory or project coordination assignments that required developing creative and effective analytical approaches to international trade and/or agency-wide issues and (c) experience communicating with high-level officials and internal and external stakeholders.
In addition to the specialized experience above, at the GS15 level, senior-level expertise is required for this position within the Office of Operations. You must have direct knowledge and work experience interpreting the Trade Act of 1974, the Trade Agreements Act of 1979, and specifically Title VII and Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through national service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
