Conditions of Employment
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Successfully graduated from the USACPA or complete within one year of hire date, unless incumbent has a current approved waiver from the Office of the Provost Marshal General (OPMG).
- The incumbent of this position must complete and pass the physical ability test within 30 days of the hiring date, and annually thereafter.
- The selectee must qualify for and remain qualified for the Individual Reliability Program (IRP).
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- Pre-employment and Random Drug Testing is required.
- This position requires the incumbent to carry a firearm and as such requires the incumbent to adhere to the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to work irregular and/or rotating shifts, to include events, nights, weekends, and holidays. The incumbent is require to work overtime as directed and is subject to emergency overtime.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This incumbent of this position is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.
- Incumbent must be able to successfully pass training, certification and qualification requirements related to law enforcement work functions as prescribed by policy, regulations or statutes.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- The 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 covers this position. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
- Incumbent is subject to removal from the position if convicted of a felony in accordance with Section639 of P.L. 106-554 effective January 20, 2001.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Enforcing law enforcement regulations concerning protecting life and property for an organization; 2) Interviewing witnesses to crimes, accidents, or security breaches to determine facts and/or warrant apprehension/ detention; 3) Performing administrative functions to include reviewing and overseeing daily and monthly police activity, crime and accident reports and incoming correspondence and 4) Providing guidance on law enforcement and security policies and procedures for an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
