Summary

This position is located in the Support Systems (SS) organization, Infrastructure Operations, Field Operations and Development, Service Delivery & Engineering (SD&E), Office of Information Technology (OI&T).

The incumbent serves as the supervisor responsible for overseeing the full range of duties with one or more IT specialty area required to support DOMAIN INFRASTRUCTURE.

Duties

Major Duties include:

  • Oversees engineering. implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of processes and technology in accordance with management priorities and objectives.
  • Monitors the development and implementation of' strategic plans to ensure they are in accordance with management priorities and objectives.
  • Monitors project time lines to ensure that deadlines are met. Analyses and resolves complex issues of and conflicting priorities for IT resources, serves on committees as requested.
  • Leads diverse teams to develop new policy, programs, structures and plans; participates in the development of the IT Service annual strategic planning report and other as hoc reports, as required.
  • Ensures the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices in the delivery of planning and management services.
  • Ensures appropriate document is developed to substantiate plans and procurements, and to ensure usability and effectiveness of processes and technology once implemented.
  • Monitors and/or overseas appropriate performance measures and indicators to assess the overall success of the office.
  • Directs assigns special projects and studies to subordinates on priorities and the ability overall success of the office.
  • Reviews and evaluates the performance of the subordinate, the abilities of the assignees and evaluates the performance of the subordinate on assigned projects.
  • Facilitates the effective exchange of information between stakeholders at all levels by sponsoring regular meetings, teleconferences and coordinating sessions to ensure all critical panics are informed and involved in decision making activities and maintenance events.
  • Undertakes region enterprise operations and infrastructure level assignments of a special or critical nature; evaluates the impact of changes in business needs, evaluates feasibility, identifies solutions. and presents recommendations to senior management.
  • Directs and manages technical teams in the daily operations and maintenance of systems and infrastructure.
  • Provides leadership and direction to staff on the Domain Infrastructure Team and provide daily support and management of services.
  • Directs and Manage Regional Core applications designed to enhance domain infrastructure effectiveness including Active Directory Object Management, DNS, DHCP, User and Group Management, Group Policy Management. Reviews and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility to ensure the systems, network and data are defended against unauthorized Eccss.
  • Promotes awareness of security issues among management and ensures that sound security principles are in organizations visions and goals.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the five competencies listed below.   1.   4. Change Management - Knowledge of change management principles, strategies, and techniques required for effectively planning, implementing, and evaluating change in the organization.
  5. Information Assurance - Knowledge of methods and procedures to protect information systems and data by ensuring their availability, authentication, confidentiality, and integrity.

Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Experience that demonstrates accomplishment of computer project assignments that require a wide range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques pertinent to the position to be filled. This knowledge is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant analyzed a number of alternative approaches in the process of advising management concerning major aspects of ADP system design, such as what system interrelationships must be considered, or what operating mode, system software, and/or equipment configuration is most appropriate for a given project.

Specific Specialized experience includes experience in the planning, testing and implementation of Directory Services technologies in a large multi-domain Active Directory (AD) Environment , including AD object management, user and group management, Group Policy management, DNS services and user access and authentication.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience and IT related, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
