Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. GS-9
To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the
07 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience collecting, researching and data profiling or compiling and charting dashboard visualizations of statistical data sets or creating & maintaining databases and analyzing the information for incorporation into final report.
OR
EDUCATION: I have completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D., if related.
OR
COMBINATION of graduate level education as described above, and the specialized experience as described below, that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.
CG-11
To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 09 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience in at least 3 of the following areas: (1) researching, profiling and analyzing data (2) compiling and charting dashboard visualizations of statistical data sets (3) gathering, aggregating and analyzing information for incorporation into final reports (4) creating or maintaining large databases/data pipelines.
OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
OR
COMBINATION of education as described above and specialized experience as described below, that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.
CG-12
To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 11 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience in at least 3 of the following areas: (1) Researching, profiling and analyzing data (2) Compiling and charting dashboard visualizations of statistical data sets (3) Writing custom queries or programs and analyzing information for incorporation into final reports (4) Creating or maintaining large databases or data pipelines.

How You Will Be Evaluated
You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
Your resume and the online assessment questionnaire will be reviewed to determine whether you meet the qualification requirements outlined in this announcement. If you are found qualified, you will be placed in one of three categories: Best Qualified, Highly Qualified, or Qualified. These category assignments are a measure of the degree in which your background and responses to the assessment questions match the competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) listed below. Within these categories, candidates eligible for veterans’ preference will receive selection priority over non-veterans.
- Knowledge of financial data, financial structure and characteristics, and data analysis.
- Ability to analyze data and develop narrative and statistics reports.
- Ability to use SAS or other analytical tools in order to manipulate data for financial or banking research.
- Skill with SQL (Structured Query Language) programming to query data bases and data systems to produce reports for financial analysts and economists.
- Knowledge of IT security principles to protect sensitive data.
You do not need to respond separately to these KSAs. Your answers to the online questionnaire and resume will serve as responses to the KSAs.
