To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.
To qualify for the Grade 13, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-12, it must include:
- Experience as a training instructor or facilitator for courses or workshops, focus groups, team building, and/or strategic planning sessions.
- Experience conducting or assisting in the delivery of interactive instruction using blended learning formats, to include classroom, video-conference, and web-conference based instruction.
- Experience using adult learning theories and instructional systems design methods to develop or create instructional materials.
You cannot qualify on education at the GS-13 level; you must have experience.
To qualify for the Grade 14, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-13, it must include:
- Experience instructing and/or facilitating meetings on organizational and leadership development theories and practices.
- Experience conducting interactive instruction using blended learning formats, to include classroom, video-conference, and web-conference based instruction.
- Experience designing, developing, and preparing instructional materials for training using blended learning formats in accordance with adult learning principles and instructional design models.
You cannot qualify on education at the GS-14 level; you must have experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Education, Learning and Training - Knowledge of teaching, training, research, making presentations, lecturing, testing, and other instructional methods.
2. Employee Development - Knowledge of employee development concepts, principles, and practices related to planning, evaluating, and administering training, organizational development, and career development initiatives.
3. Teaching Others - Helps others learn through formal or informal methods; identifies training needs; provides constructive feedback; coaches others on how to perform tasks; acts as a mentor.
4. Leadership - Influences, motivates, and challenges others; adapts leadership styles to a variety of situations.
For all types of consideration, experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
