Summary

This position is located in the Corporate University of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in using comprehensive knowledge of the full scope of training methods to provide guidance on the development and implementation of learning and development initiatives and programs.

Duties

  • Provides planning, scheduling, review, administration and coordination for curriculum implementation and corporate programs.
  • Provides management and oversight of training acquisition projects to ensure training requirements are addressed, proper procedures are followed and deliverables adhere to quality standards. Ensures adherence to copyright laws and regulations.
  • Evaluates curricula materials for clarity and accomplishment of objectives. Identifies areas that may require revision and makes recommendations to course owner. Develops and maintains course materials, lesson design, validation, and implementation plans.
  • Manages an evaluation process to ensure course learning objectives are met and improvements to the curriculum are made in a timely manner. Identifies areas that require revision and works with course developers to make changes.
  • Develops high-level evaluation reports using data from a variety of sources on a recurring basis to determine the current state of courses and/or programs.
  • Responsible for reviewing statistical analyses of course written comments and numerical evaluations of course effectiveness for future reference and planning.
  • Markets and communicates courses and/or programs to the Corporation.

The candidate selected will be offered a term appointment not-to-exceed 13 months, which may be extended to a maximum of four (4) years based on workload requirements and organizational staffing authorizations.

Registration with the Selective Service.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 12- grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience assessing and analyzing learning and development programs; evaluating training programs; preparing and presenting management reports related to training courses and programs; and monitoring training contracts.

Selectee(s) for this position will be required to report to their duty station office two days per week.

  2. Ability to operate automated systems to track and maintain information and data on training courses, programs and activities.
  3. Ability to handle program management responsibilities requiring simultaneous work on multiple programs and projects.
  4. Ability to analyze employee training and development to assist in addressing performance deficiencies, and makes training recommendations to assist in performance improvement
  5. Ability to communicate and provide information on courses, programs, policies, procedures, or employee counseling.
