Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

As an Triage Analyst , you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:

  • Reviews and evaluates all incident reports submitted to the Integrity and Accountability Bureau.
  • Collaborates with investigative units, legal counsel, and program managers to ensure accurate and timely incident handling.
  • Contributes to, and may lead, the design and implementation of tools and workflows that improve incident management efficiency.
  • Provides technical guidance and support to field programs and staff responsible for incident submissions
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on risk indicators, safeguarding protocols, and potential fraud detection.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing at least ALL of the following:

  • Conducting evaluation and analysis of child welfare programs serving unaccompanied alien children and refugee populations, including reviewing and triaging incident reports, assessing risk indicators, and determining appropriate escalation pathways to support child safety and program accountability.
  • Analyzing data and developing reports for Child Level Events, using approved triage tools to classify severity, document referral decisions, and produce accurate summaries that inform leadership oversight, policy compliance assessments, and programmatic improvements.
  • Performing unaccompanied alien children grantee program data analysis to identify child safety issues within federally funded residential facilities, including identifying trends in incident submissions, recommending workflow refinements, and contributing to quality assurance initiatives to ensure adherence to reporting requirements.
  • Analyzing child welfare reporting mechanisms (i.e., behavioral notes, significant incident reports, home study reports, etc.), applying subject matter expertise to evaluate completeness, identify inconsistencies, verify risk factors, and support referrals to investigative teams, legal counsel, or external partners when warranted.
  • Working with multiple stakeholders involved in the care, placement, and monitoring of unaccompanied alien children in a federal setting, including program managers, investigative units, legal counsel, and external agencies to coordinate incident review, ensure timely follow-up, and maintain confidentiality and integrity throughout the incident lifecycle
