This National Guard position is for a YELLOW RIBBON PROGRAM SPECIALIST-Title 5, Position Description Number T5334000 and is part of the WI JFHQ G1, Wisconsin National Guard.

Duties
- Assists with the planning, development, coordination, implementation, and daily administration of the YRRP to include the contracting of conference facilities, lodging, meals, and professional onsite child care.
- Responsible for creating and distributing the agenda, informational brochures, and other promotional materials concerning individual YRRP events scheduled.
- Serves as an advisor on the YRRP Program and family program issues relevant to the service members and their families during the deployment cycle, with the intent of maximizing readiness of the service members and their families.
- Assists in planning, maintaining, and updating an ongoing system of information and referrals for use by the military community.
- Provides necessary assistance to units and/or individuals to ensure accomplishment of all Deployment Cycle Support tasks during appropriate phases of the deployment cycles to include coordinating reception activities, briefings, training, and spouse/family education.

- The incumbent of this position description must have, at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial vehicles to perform temporary duty assignments.
- This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- May be subject to furlough actions.
- Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare eligibility

Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-0301-09 position, you must have at least 1 year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Experience in organizing, planning, and coordinating events. Candidate has experience leading and directing special projects. Experience gathering pertinent data and tracking on Excel Spreadsheet. Candidate must have strong organizational skills and excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidate must have extensive experience preparing and conducting multiple briefs. Experience preparing written communications for internal and external stake holders. Experience with Microsoft TEAMS, Excel and SharePoint is necessary. Advising budgeting needs for the program and advising on funding and resources is preferred but not necessary.

Must have a high school diploma/GED
