Summary
This position is located in the Clerk of the Court's Office for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. The position operates under the general supervision of the Deputy Clerk of the Superior Court. The incumbent is responsible for assisting with administrative functions and the oversight and coordination of projects and initiatives of Superior Court operations.

Duties
Brief Description of Duties:
As the Senior Operations Manager, the incumbent is responsible for performing the following primary duties:
- Assisting in the daily operations of the Superior Court
- Developing court operations improvement programs; providing project management assistance regarding program goals and implementation strategies
- Researching, evaluating, planning, developing, and implementing projects and programs to accomplish Court objectives
- Reviewing proposed personnel actions for procedural conformity and substantive fairness, and drafting final actions for the Clerk of the Court; providing advice to division directors and managers on Court personnel actions
- Assisting with the maintenance and assignment of chambers and courtrooms to judicial officers
- Coordinating and overseeing judicial investitures and other ceremonial and special functions
- Preparing the annual budget for the Clerk of the Court's Office and reviewing budget request from the operating divisions
- Conducting formal or informal interviews, studies and/or surveys to gather information about operations, programs, and projects; Responding to inquiries, survey and study requests from external agencies or legal associations
- Analyzing the impact of proposed court rules on specific court policies, procedures and programs

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in court, judicial, business or public administration, criminal justice, human resources management, or other relevant field. Three (3) years of experience leading, developing, planning, and/or evaluating programs and at least three (3) years of experience managing and supervising people in a public service agency, court system or legal environment.
Graduation from the DC Court's Management Training Program may be substituted for one (1) year of supervisory experience. You must provide documentation of your management training (i.e. copy of certificate) with your application.
Possess the ability to research; demonstrate diplomacy and deference when interacting with others and proficient written and oral communication skills. A writing sample must be attached.

The DC Courts leave policy is as follows:
Annual Leave: New full-time employees earn four (4) hours of annual leave biweekly. After three years of service this increases to six (6)hours biweekly, and at 15 years it increases to eight(8)hours biweekly. Most military, federal and District of Columbia government service counts toward the time required to go into the next higher annual leave category. Employees can carry over no more than 240 hours of annual leave into the next leave year.
Sick Leave is used for personal medical needs, care of a family member, or adoption related purposes. Full-time employees earn four(4)hours of sick leave biweekly. This leave can be accrued without limit.
