Duties
This position is located within the Office of
Inspections and Policy (OIP), Assistant Chief of Police for Standards and
Training Operations, USCP. Provides a
broad range of high-level administrative and project support functions,
including advising, managing communications, coordinating, and tracking
projects for the various Divisions in the OIP. The incumbent oversees the
administrative processes, analyzes the internal office workflow, and
establishes procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of
operations. Assists the Director with formulating project plans and providing
program management expertise regarding all aspects of administrative functions
throughout the OIP. Manages, coordinates, oversees, and tracks the work,
consulting with the Director on work priorities, inspection, audit, and project
schedule requirements. Tracks assignment/program milestones or deadlines and
coordinates follow-up with Division Associate Directors to ensure work is
completed within the established deadlines. Works independently with a high
degree of tact and diplomacy to carry out special assignments requiring a
comprehensive knowledge of OIP's mission. Reviews and prepares correspondence for the Director's
signature. Ensures the proper and efficient utilization of office records,
files, research materials, and other related functions to ensure accurate
document collection and control, availability, completeness, accuracy, and
timeliness. Serves as the primary contact for resource management including
office space planning requirements, staffing projections, associated allocation
requirements, and other resource needs. Oversees and evaluates the
effectiveness of the OIP front office processes including all administrative
programs assigned to the OIP for management such as liaison with the Office of
Human Resources, budget, procurement, inventory management, monitoring
information on program activities, etc.
Provides expert guidance and assistance in managing
complex projects, tasks, and action items, keeping the Director and the Deputy
Director informed of critical developments. Monitors progress and provides
feedback or advice to achieve desired goals. Makes logistical arrangements for
meetings as required. Functions as the Financial Liaison Officer responsible
for managing the OIP’s financial resources. Maintains effective communication
with OIP Division Associate Directors, to ensure financial resources are
properly obligated and tracked according to the Office of Financial
Management's established policies and procedures. Conducts research and cost
analysis to assess the budget estimates for the annual submission. obligating
documents with Department accounting system records to ensure the expenses
are accurately reflected.

You must be a U.S. citizen.
Successful completion of a background investigation is required.
Must complete a one-year probationary period.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. For the CP-10 level you must have one year (52 weeks)
of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CP-09/GS-11 level that is
in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled.
Specialized experience is defined as experience that includes 1) experience
providing support to executives; 2) providing expert guidance and assistance in
the management of complex projects, tasks, and action items; 3) serving as the
Financial Liaison Officer, coordinating office plans and needs in developing
the annual budget; and 4) purchasing supplies, equipment, and services within
