Summary

The Automation and Continuous Delivery Branch in the AIT Infrastructure & Operations Directorate is responsible for researching, developing, collaborating, and implementing automated ways to improve continuous service delivery of IT Service processes.

Duties

As an IT Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying automated workflows using low code or no code platforms. You will also be responsible for researching and integrating artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities into software applications, platforms, or systems to deliver impactful solutions across the organization. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand business processes, identifying automation opportunities, and implementing solutions to streamline business processes and improving efficiency.

Specific duties of this position include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Analysis and Design
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders and process owners to understand, analyze, and document requirements/processes.
    • Analyze processes to identify opportunities for automation and optimization using robotics process automation (RPA) and AI.
    • Design automation solutions based on business requirements.
  2. Development and Configuration
    • Utilize low code and no code development platforms to build automation solutions, leveraging pre-built components and templates.
    • Configure and customize automation workflows/robots, data integrations, and business rules.
    • Develop custom scripts to enhance automation capabilities as needed.
  3. Testing and Debugging
    • Conduct thorough testing of automation solutions to ensure functionality, accuracy, and reliability.
    • Debug and troubleshoot issues, identifying root causes and implementing necessary fixes.
  4. Deployment and Maintenance
    • Coordinate deployment of automation solutions into production environments.
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, updates, and optimizations to enhance automation effectiveness.
  5. Documentation and Reporting
    • Create comprehensive documentation for automation solutions, including process diagrams, user guides, and technical specifications.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of processes, configurations, and changes.
    • Provide regular progress reports and status updates to Manager, team members, and stakeholders.
  6. Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the organization.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance existing automation solutions and drive innovation with RPA and AI.
  7. Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with stakeholders and other team members to ensure successful project delivery.
    • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Participate in meetings and discussions to gather requirements and provide technical expertise.

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H, FG/GS-10-12. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience is: Experience developing, testing, and deploying automated workflows using low-code or no-code platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath, or similar tools and utilizing Business Process Automation (BPA) software such as Microsoft PowerApps, ServiceNow, and Jira for integration with custom developed workflows/software.

Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history.
