Summary

This position is located in the Government Accountability Office. As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) you will be working within the Information Security Division (ISD) in collaboration with the ISTS functional areas and business stakeholders needed to execute projects.

Duties

As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), PT-2210-4 your typical work assignments may include the following:

  • Directs the efforts of the Cybersecurity Program in support of the following areas of responsibility: Identity, Credential and Access Management (ICAM), Public Key Infrastructure, Multi-Factor Authentication and Access Controls, Zero Trust, Least Privilege and Special Publications. Analyzes and handles issues and those that have uncertainties involving authorities and scope of the ICAM program. Generates new concepts, principles, and methods in the cybersecurity field.
  • Collaborates with the ISTS Divisions and Across GAO, to develop transition plans that identify sequencing of planned system/initiative changes from current to target architectures by developing and updating the project plans and coordinating with the IT Modernization Program Manager.
  • Originates and present business cases and project proposals consistent with GAO and ISTS IT Governance and IT Investment processes.
  • Develops statements of work, task orders or procurement documents necessary for commercial product procurements and/or contract labor services.

Qualifications

You must have IT related experience demonstrating these four competencies: 1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail; 2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services; 3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately; and 4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Specialized Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PT-III/GS-14 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability toLead project teams in planning and executing all phases IT security projects utilizing agile and traditional project management methodologies and techniques from project inception through completion. Ensure documentation and prioritization of IT Security system requirements, development of system designs, system security plans and execution of quality assurance plans, and privacy impact assessments. Conduct system security evaluations, audits reviews, including risk vulnerability assessments.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
