Duties
This position is located in the Internal
Controls Division, Office of Inspections and Policy, United States Capitol
Police (USCP). Serves
as an Internal Compliance Specialist responsible for analyzing and evaluating
major mission-critical programs, policies, and processes with impact across the
Department. Provides technical guidance and advice on the most appropriate
method or procedure of analysis and evaluation to accomplish the mission and
ensure optimum oversight strategy. Conducts reviews of new and existing
policies and processes to identify inconsistencies. Reviews and verifies
compliance documents for accuracy, quality, and consistency with standard
practices Serves
as primary point of contact for the Internal Controls Division and responds to
specific requests and inquiries regarding compliance reviews. Maintains a
database system and records all reviews and findings. Coordinates and schedules
compliance reviews and tracks the prioritization of internal control
activities. Performs various administrative management functions. Maintains the
Division’s operating budget and ensures funds are properly allocated.

Successful completion of a background investigation is required.
Must complete a one-year probationary period.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. For the CP-10 level you must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to
at least the CP-9/GS-11 level which is in or directly related to the line of
work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as
experience that includes: 1) Knowledge of
administrative laws, policies, regulations, and precedents, as well as agency
program goals and objectives; 2) Knowledge of budget formulation and knowledge
of contracting policies and procedures including acquisition methods; and 3)
Knowledge of internal review policies, objectives, and regulations sufficient
