Duties
- Provides guidance and disseminates information on humanities grant programs. The incumbent is the frontline respondent to inquiries and provides information via email and telephone to potential applicants regarding the office's and the agency's grant programs, application details, and related general questions.
- Assists in the administration of humanities grant programs. This includes creating and maintaining spreadsheets that track financial information and analyze important statistics about applications and grants.
- Participates in the administration of humanities grant applications. This includes work in examining proposals and applications for sufficiency of information provided. The incumbent assists Humanities Administrators with peer review panels and provides support to panelists.
- Assists managers and Humanities Administrators in other administrative and technical areas. Creates detailed reports, press releases, papers, and memoranda and makes recommendations to promote greater efficiency and effectiveness of the Office's programs, administration, and recordkeeping. Assists n the evaluation of projects, programs, and administrative tasks. Prepares abstracts of grant applications.
- Uses electronic tools to promote grant programs and writes content for public audiences. This includes using tools such as databases, spreadsheets, websites, content management systems, search engines, blogs, and social media to increase workflow effectiveness, efficient procedures, and program promotion. Develops written content about the Office's programs and grants for the agency blog, office Twitter account, press releases, reports, and other needs.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
At the GS- 11 level Qualified candidates must possess:
1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level or equivalent experience.
Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: Experience participating in the administration of grant programs including monitoring programs, budget allocations, and obligations; applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to conduct research and utilize databases to prepare reports and statistical data; ensuring compliance with grant rules and regulations; experience at a cultural nonprofit institution or organization (for example, museum, library, archive, or humanities center), working in development, fundraising, capital campaigns, or donor relations.

3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree

How You Will Be Evaluated
You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
